Hi my name is Helen
About my Affix - it is made up from my 3 favourite breeds, Belgian,Whippet and Papillon - you don't pronounce the L in Papillon, and so you don't
in my Affix. Phonetically it sounds like Belpeteon
I have been actively involved with dogs
since my marriage to Mick in 1976, before then I was horse crazy (still am if the truth is known, but I couldn’t afford
one these days)
I
spent 25 years competing in Obedience with considerable success, taking 3 dogs
into Test C, one into Championship Test C, but I didn’t like the pressure I felt there, so dropped out, you know the
saying "if you can’t stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen".
I also Judged Obedience and KCGC
schemes. I have now been passed to award Challenge Certificate for Belgian Shepherd Dogs.
I am also one of the
founder members of the WBSDS (Working Belgian Shepherd Dog Society) and am currently the Chairperson of this society.

These days I spend most of my time competing in Agility with some success. One of my dogs is a
Grade 6 (old standard of Senior dog)
I fell in love with Belgian Shepherds in 1979 when I saw my
first Groenendael, however it was 4 years later that I finally thought I knew enough to go and buy one, and ended up with
a Tervueren, as they seemed to have the more stable characters at that time.
Flame (Sublime Dreamer)
took me into the breed ring, twice winning BIS and RBIS at Open level, and up to Championship C in Obedience.
Next came
the Groenendaels which I have had ever since, they are my first love.
Then came 'Joker'
CH Out Of The Gloom he won 21 CC's and 9 RCC's. BOB at Crufts
1991. A Champion Stakes finalist and a Veteran Stakes finalist finishing in 3rd
place. And he also won into Test C in Obedience. My Groenendaels are all descendents of Jokers.
My dogs
are first and foremost treasured family pets, they live in our house and share our holidays, and I would
prefer any dogs I breed to go to that sort of home too.
